Bringing a baby into the world is one of the most meaningful moments of your life. At the Family Birthing Center at OSF HealthCare Saint Elizabeth Medical Center – Peru, you’ll have more than a place to deliver. You’ll have a connected care experience that supports you from early pregnancy through postpartum.

Support for Your Whole Pregnancy

At the Family Birthing Center, your pregnancy care is designed to be both comprehensive and personal from the very beginning. With both in-person and virtual care along the way, you also get added connection and guidance so you never feel like you’re navigating anything alone.

Early Pregnancy

From the moment you learn you are expecting, you’ll begin building a personalized plan for a healthy pregnancy.

Your OB/GYN will take time to get to know you, provide guidance on symptoms and help you understand what to expect throughout your pregnancy.

With OSF OnCall pregnancy and postpartum support, digital care is built directly into your care plan. You’ll get 24/7 virtual support, real-time guidance from a specially trained OB care team and even virtual check-ins that can replace some office visits. When needed, we’ll also provide at-home tools like blood pressure cuffs to help you stay on track.

Patients can enroll anytime during pregnancy, from as early as eight weeks through six weeks postpartum, making it easier to get support whenever you need it most.

During Pregnancy

As your pregnancy continues, you’ll experience a blend of in-person visits and convenient virtual care. With support from OSF OnCall, your care plan will likely include a mix of in-person visits for ultrasounds, labs and important pregnancy milestones, as well as routine check-ins that may be completed virtually when it’s appropriate for you.

This approach helps save time and reduce unnecessary trips to the office while providing real-time support for your symptoms or concerns 24/7.

When it’s time to deliver, you’ll be surrounded by a highly trained team and advanced technology focused on your safety and comfort.

We offer:

  • 24/7 bedside care from specially trained nurses

Postpartum Support

Your care continues after delivery, with support for recovery, feeding and adjusting to life with your newborn.

We offer:

  • Additional support for families, including financial assistance and pastoral care for spiritual well-being
  • Breastfeeding support, including access to International Board-Certified Lactation Consultants (IBCLC), the highest level of lactation support available

Your care doesn’t stop when you leave the hospital.
