Veterans Education Benefits Policy

Federal Financial Student Aid and institutional scholarships are available to veterans. Veterans can use these resources in conjunction with their VA benefits. This allows the veteran to make an informed decision on how to best use the VA benefits to finance their college education.

Saint Francis Medical Center does not require veterans to use their Post 9/11 GI Bill® and/or other VA Education benefits to help pay for their education. Saint Francis Medical Center College of Nursing participates in federal and state financial aid. Students are encouraged to file the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) to apply for need based financial aid prior to utilizing VA benefits. Students who choose to use their VA education benefits should still complete the FAFSA application in order to maximize their financial aid options.

GI Bill® is a registered trademark of the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA). More information about educational benefits offered by the VA is available at the official U.S. government website.
