What is tricuspid regurgitation?
Tricuspid valve regurgitation happens when your heart’s tricuspid valve doesn’t close all the way. This allows blood to leak backward into the heart instead of flowing forward. Over time, this extra strain can make your heart work harder. When blood flows the wrong direction, your body may not get the oxygen-rich blood it needs.
