A pediatric hospitalist is a pediatrician who specializes in caring for hospitalized babies, children and adolescents.

What does a pediatric hospitalist do?

Sometimes referred to as the attending physician, pediatric hospitalists supervise and coordinate all areas of care during a child’s hospital stay, often working with interns and resident physicians. They diagnose and treat a wide range of pediatric illnesses and medical needs.

Pediatric Intensivist

The pediatric critical care team provides 24/7 in-house (at the hospital) care of critically ill children, including those requiring life support, those recovering from major surgeries or simply those requiring a high level of monitoring.

What is a pediatric intensivist?

A pediatric intensivist is a pediatrician who has completed additional training in managing critically ill babies, children and adolescents. Pediatric intensivists are responsible for managing children in the pediatric intensive care unit (PICU).
