How virtual urgent care works
Whether through a video visit or an online interview, patients will meet with the same trusted, board-certified providers they would see if they visited a clinic in person.
With video visits, patients meet face-to-face online with a provider. The provider will create a personalized treatment plan using basic information about their symptoms. The entire experience averages just 15 to 25 minutes.
Online interviews allow patients to walk through a series of questions at their own pace — without a face-to-face meeting. A provider will review their information and follow up with any questions, if necessary, before creating a treatment plan. Most interviews take just 5 to 15 minutes.
However patients choose to connect, prescriptions are provided when necessary for treatment. Connection to OSF MyChart offers direct access to their health history and improves continuity of care. If a more serious issue is identified for in-person care, they’ll have access to the OSF HealthCare physician network, with more than 2,400 primary care, specialist and advanced practice providers.
