The APP Fellowship is a 12-month transition-to-practice program for new nurse practitioners and physician assistants, offering mentorship and support to build clinical and leadership skills.

Founded in 2016 with one track, the OSF HealthCare APP Fellowship Program now offers multiple inpatient and outpatient options.
Each track includes a precepted model – with a dedicated preceptor and shared patient panel – and a mentored model with greater autonomy and ongoing support. Most fellows transition to the mentored model after six to eight months.

This track is designed to give the fellow a foundation in adult acute care by utilizing multiple different ICU services, which will allow the fellow to apply for a permanent position in any of the adult acute care settings.

This track rotates fellows through both community-based emergency rooms as well as Level 1 trauma centers to provide exposure to a variety of patient populations as well as acuity levels.

This track is designed to give the fellow a foundation in acute care by utilizing both the pediatric ICU service and the pediatric surgery service which will allow the fellow to apply for a permanent position in any of the pediatric acute care settings
